Chevelle suspension
The Chevelle was the perfect project for me at the time. The fact that it was on Bilstein coilovers instead of air bags gave me the opportunity to push the geometry and see what we could get away with. To start with, the camber gain I designed into the suspension was pretty aggressive at 1° per inch of travel at both the front and rear, while the roll-center was optimized for a front engine sedan. I designed a medium amount of anti-dive into the front suspension and a bit of anti-squat into the rear suspension to keep the car from lunging all over as the can accelerated and braked. In the end, the car ended up being far more confident at high speeds than I would have ever guessed possible. The only things I regret on this car is that it never got to see the track and I wish I took more pictures.
